Recapping the previous day’s games…

Men’s Basketball

Utah Valley 56 @ North Dakota State 63

What You Need To Know: This wasn’t an easy one for the Bison. They were down 12-5 after five minutes and it was tied 29-29 at the half and 48-48 with 8:37 to go. A quick 7-0 North Dakota State run made it 55-48 and the lead never got below five the rest of the way. Taylor Braun returned from his broken bone in his foot and played 18 minutes but did not score.

Interesting Stat Lines: North Dakota State was led by 14 from Marshall Bjorklund who also had eight rebounds. Utah Valley got a big 25 points on 7-13 shooting and 9-9 FT shooting from their center Ben Aird who also had six rebounds. Both teams were mediocre shooting at 40%. The big difference maker in the game was North Dakota State grabbing 12 of the available 36 offensive rebounds (33%) while holding Utah Valley to just five of 30 (16.7%).

Next Up: North Dakota State heads to Omaha on Saturday. If they play like they did in this one Omaha will really rest them.

Men’s Player of the Night: Marshall Bjorklund get the nod with 14 points and eight rebounds on 6-11 shooting. He also had an assist, a block, and two steals.
