2013 Omaha Softball–Record Watch–February 26th

Amber Lutmer’s three home runs this weekend moved her from 7th to 3rd on the school’s all-time home run charts. She now has has 29 career home runs. She passed Lauren McArthur who had 28 from 2003-2006, Erin Drinnin who had 28 from 1999-2002, Katelyn Hinton who had 27 from 2009-2012 and Lindsey Slocum who had 27 from 2007-2011.

Tony Peterson was hit by two pitches this weekend raising her career total to 16, 5th place in school history. Peterson passed Brianna Cataudella who had 15 from 2005 to 2008.

Amber Lutmer hit a sacrifice fly against Jackson State, the 6th of her career. She’s now in 3rd place all-time, tied with Kelsey Warming who had six from 2004-2005.

Dana Elsasser saved two games this weekend giving her four for her career. She passed Kelly Secord who had 3 from 1997-98 and is now tied with the following players who had four in their career: Melissa Negrete (2007-10), Lindsey Slocum (2007-11), Beth Wedige (1987-89), Erin Drinnin (1999-02), Michelle Manthei (1998-01), Denise Peterson (1993-96), Tracy Carey (1994-95).

Dana Elssaser finished two games this weekend bringing her career total to seven. That’s tied for 9th most all-time with Krista Unger who had seven from 2000-03. Elsasser passed Allysa Fligg who had six in 2008.

Amber Lutmer had her 200th career fielding chances in the final game of the weekend. Through 200 chances her career fielding percentage is .990, the 6th best mark in school history. She made her 2nd career error in the first game of the weekend vs. Evansville.

Tonya Peterson was hit by two pitches this weekend and moved into 6th place in most times hit by a pitch in a single season with seven. She passed Julia Krejci in 2010, Amber Lutmer in 2011, and Kellyn Kramolisch in 2007 who all had been hit six times. Laura Adams in 1998 and Sarah Scheppers in 2002 are the other players who have been hit seven times in a season.

Dana Elsasser lowered her season ERA from 0.76 to 0.57 this weekend and crossed the 50 IP mark. That qualifies it for the school records where it’d be the best ERA for a season in school history, Krista Unger currently holds the school record with a 0.76 ERA in 2001.

Dana Elsasser is also on the lowest batting average against chart after reaching 50 IP. She’s allowed a .167 batting average, 2nd best in school history behind Krista Unger’s .134 in 2001.

Dana Elsasser is on the fewest walks allowed/7 inning game chart after crossing the 50 IP mark. She has allowed 0.69 walks/seven innings this year placing her 3rd on the all-time charts.

Omaha improved their slugging percentage from .508 to .516, moving them from 5th place in school history to 3rd. They passed the 2010 team (.512) and the 1989 team (.515) in the process.
