Omaha dropped a match on Friday night to North Dakota, 5-2. The Mavericks got the doubles point thanks to victories by Matt Frost/Connor Larson and Eric McKnight/Erik Anderson but were only able to secure one singles point. Conner Tieszen got that point for the Mavericks with a 6-4, 6-7, 10-6 victory at #1 singles.

Omaha fell to 2-3 while North Dakota got their first win to improve to 1-2 on the year. North Dakota had lost to Western Illinois previous 4-3. Omaha had lost 5-2 so it would seem North Dakota is a bit stronger than the Mavericks.

#1 Singles: Conner Tieszen was once again the selection at #1 singles and he got Omaha’s only singles win, 6-4, 6-7, 10-6.

#2 Singles: Eric McKnight stayed at #2 singles and lost 6-1, 6-1

#3 Singles: Connor Larson was at #3 singles for the 2nd straight match and lost 7-6, 6-0.

#4 Singles: Carlos Ramos Salazar stayed at #4 singles for the 2nd straight match and lost 6-4, 6-4.

#5 Singles: Matt Frost was back at #5 singles for the first time since the Spring opening match with Arkansas. He was beaten 6-4, 6-4.

#6 Singles: Erik Anderson took part in his first singles match, losing his #6 singles match 6-3, 6-4.

#1 Doubles: Conner Tieszen/Carlos Ramos Salazar partnered at #1 doubles for the second straight match. They won 8-3.

#2 Doubles: Eric McKnight/ErikAnderson competed in #2 doubles for the first time, the first doubles match of the year for Anderson. They won 8-6.

#3 Doubles: Matt Frost/Connor Larson paired up for the first time since the Arkansas match, winning #3 doubles 8-3.

Upcoming opponent:
Omaha hosts Oral Roberts next on Saturday March 9th at 2 PM. It’s the final home match for Omaha in this opening stretch. Oral Roberts is 0-6 on the year. They lost 5-2 to Western Illinois in a home match and lost at Arkansas 6-1. So they might be a tad better than Omaha but it should be a competitive match.
