Recapping the previous day’s games…

Men’s Basketball

Chicago State 75 @ Omaha 79

What You Need To Know: Omaha swept the season series and got to 10 wins for the season. The game was somewhat sloppy, especially in the first half when Chicago State had 11 turnovers. Omaha found themselves down with about five minutes left but rallied to pull away and survived a lot of Chicago State pressure and fouls over the closing minutes.

Interesting Stat Lines: Justin Simmons had 26 points to lead all scorers and grabbed six rebounds and four assists. Twenty of those points came in the 2nd half. CJ Carter added 15 while Caleb Steffensmeier had 14. Quinton Pippen had 17 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals for the Bobcats. Aaron Williams came off the bench for a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Omaha went 19-25 on FTs while Chicago State was 5-9. The Bobcats outrebounded Omaha 38-29 and grabbed 16 offensive rebounds.

Next Up: Omaha hosts North Dakota in the BracketBusters matchup on Saturday. The Mavericks are looking for their 10th D1 win of the season and this is their only real winnable game left.
