Here’s the results of the various events when it comes to Omaha’s athletes. Next to each event is listed the top 3 scores and Omaha’s School record.

13th – 10.88m – Sami Spenner – PR
22nd – 9.48m – Amanda Alexander

Sami Spenner showed some good improvement as she bested her old PR from last year by 1.24m. Amanda Alexander had her first shot put event of the year and was a little short of her 9.82m best from last season.

55m Dash – 7.38/7.40/7.46 – SR 7.02
3rd – 7.46 – Terri Armstrong

Nice showing by Armstrong who’s best 60m time last year was 8.01.

55m Hurdles – 8.23/8.55/8.61 – SR 7.99
18th – 10.55 – Amanda Alexander

Alexander was the only competitor for Omaha and wasn’t really in contention in this one. Alexander actually ran a 10.46 60m Hurdles last year so she was a little off her pace.

200m – 25.75/27.42/27.44 – SR 23.93
4th – 27.47 – Terri Armstrong

Armstrong ran a 25.58 last season so this was a little off her pace.

600m – 1:39.66/1:40.04/1:42.43 – SR 1:34.55
2nd – 1:40.04 – Lauren Psota

First 600m run of the year for Psota and she got a nice 2nd place finish.

800m – 2:23.72/2:25.98/2:25.99 – SR 2:07.14
4th – 2:27.28 – Lydia Martin
17th – 2:43.15 – Jaqueline Mezick
21st – 2:46.96 – Kelsey Green

Lydia Martin couldn’t match her 2:24.61 personal best but ran a good race in 4th. It was the first ever 800m for Green and the first race for freshman Mezick.

1000m – 3:04.86/3:09.26/3:10.90 – SR 2:52.46
6th – 3:15.42 – Nicole Behm
9th – 3:23.67 – Karo Garcia

Behm couldn’t match her 3:09.75 of last year while Garcia is a freshman running her first 1000m.

1 Mile – 5:23.16/5:34.72/5:36.35 – SR 4:59.22
1st – 5:23.16 – Ashley Kildow
3rd – 5:36.35 – Katarina Zarudnaya

Kildow won this event on Saturday despite being about 8 seconds off her season best. Zarudnaya was running her first track event for Omaha and finished 3rd.

3000m – 10:17.54/10:41.16/10:47.26 – SR 9:50.04
1st – 10:17.54 – Amanda Vorthmann
4th – 10:53.78 – Kristin Rogers
6th – 11:07.14 – MiKayla Peck
9th – 11:22.29 – Kristen Carmichael
13th – 11:34.59 – Carolyn Newhouse
14th – 11:37.99 – Kayla Fenske

Fenske was the only one who’d competed at 3,000m before this year and she was about 27 seconds off her pace from that race. Vorthmann is the school record holder in the event and won this event by a huge 24 second margin. Rogers was just seven seconds off last year’s personal best from her freshman season and finished 4th. MiKalya Peck came in 6th and freshman Kristen Carmichael came in 9th. Another freshman in Carolyn Newhouse was 13th. Seems to be a deep event for Omaha.
