Omaha was overmatched in a swimming dual meet on Saturday against Illinois State. Illinois state won 12 of the 16 events and went 1-2-3 in six different events as they ran away with the dual meet. Omaha did find more success in the form of freshman Natalie Renshaw who won the 50 Yard Backstroke and the 50 Yard Freestyle races. Renshaw is quite the talent with lots of time to grow for Omaha. Maddie Hutt won the 100 Yard Breaststroke while the relay team of Whitney Korgan, Hannah Johnson, Natalie Renshaw, and Anna Haxby won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.

So a tough one for Omaha but good to see Renshaw shining in a tough matchup. I had projected 231-67 Illinois State before hand and it seems that was fairly accurate. Definitely not a dual meet Omaha was ever going to contend for.

Next Scheduled Meet:
Omaha will next swim in the Grinnell Invite on Friday and Saturday. The Mavericks came in 2nd in the Invite last year behind Gustavus Adolphus College.
