2012-13 Omaha Women’s Basketball – Game 14 – Postgame Notes, Facts, and Stats

While I enjoying tweeting these out as well, figured this might be an easy way to put them all together for easy viewing :). Enjoy!

Scoring

  • Paige Frauendrofer became the 5th Maverick to score more than 20 points in a game this year, each it doing it only one time.
  • The other four Mavericks to score more than 20 points were Carolyn Blair-Mobley, Casse Vaughn, Jamie Nash, and Ericka House.
  • Omaha has had a player score more than 20 points in three of the last five games.
  • Omaha scored 1.00 point per possession, their 5th highest rate of the season and best since the College of St. Mary game (12/21).
  • Omaha scored on 53.1% of their possessions, the 6th best % of the year and best since 63.1% on 12/21 vs. College of Saint Mary.
  • Saturday was the 4th time Paige Frauendorfer has scored 20+ points in her career. Omaha is 3-1 in those games.
  • Omaha had only 1 player in double figures on Saturday, the first time since 2/7/12 @ South Dakota.
  • Saturday ended a 6 game streak in which Omaha had exactly 3 players in double figures.
  • Carolyn Blair-Mobley ended a 5 game streak of scoring in double figures when she scored only 9 points.
  • Omaha has had a player score 17+ points in 12 of the 14 games this year.

Rebounding

  • Paige Frauendorfer grabbed 10 rebounds, her 6th time with 10+ rebounds this year. She has hit that mark in 4 of the last 5 games.
  • Omaha grabbed 39.3% of the offensive rebounds available, their 7th best & of the season and 3rd straight game over 36%.
  • Omaha has grabbed a majority of the rebounds in ten of their 14 games this year.
  • Omaha is 6-0 this season when Paige Frauendorfer grabs 10+ rebounds and 14-5 in her career.
  • Paige Frauendorfer has had 9+ rebounds in 8 games this year including 7 of the last 8 games.

Assists

  • Jamie Nash had 7 assists, her 9th time this year with 7+ assists.
  • Omaha had 14 assists, the 6th highest total of the season and same number they had against Oakland.
  • Omaha assisted on 60.9% of their FGs, the 5th highest % of the year and best since 64.3% against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (12/17).
  • Omaha is 9-2 this season when Jamie Nash has 5+ assists and 30-21 in her career.
  • Jamie Nash has led Omaha in assists 13 times this year, Omaha is 10-3 in those games.
  • Jamie Nash passed Jennifer Mitchell for 1st in career assists on Saturday. Nash now has 475 career assists.

Steals

  • Jamie Nash had 4 steals, her 10th time with at least 4 this year. She has 4+ in 4 of the last 5 games.
  • Omaha had 10 steals, the 6th highest total of the season and 4th time with 10+ in the last 5 games.
  • Omaha is 8-3 this season when Jamie Nash has 3+ steals and 35-19 in her career.
  • Jamie Nash has led Omaha in steals 60 times in her career; Omaha is 31-29 when Nash leads in steals.

Blocks

  •  Taijhe Kelly did not record a block, ending an 11 game streak with at least 1 which began against Northern Arizona (11/18).

Shooting

  • Paige Frauendorfer had 9 FGs, the 2nd most by a Maverick this year. Paige has 7+ FGs in 6 games this season.
  • Paige Frauendorfer shot 64.3% on FGs (9-14), the 7th best shooting % with at least 5 makes this year and her best performance this year.
  • Paige Frauendorfer and Casse Vaughn each made 4 FTs, each now having 3 games this year with 4+ FTs.
  • Paige Frauendorfer, Casse Vaughn, Jamie Nash, and Carolyn Blair-Mobley are the only Mavericks to hit 4+ FTs and each has done this in 3 games this year.
  • The 43.4% FG shooting was the 7th best by Omaha this year and best in the 4 games since the College of St. Mary game (12/21).
  • Omaha only hit 4 3FG, their 3rd straight game without hitting at least 5. From 11/15/11-12/3/11 they were under 5 3FG in 6 straight games.
  • Omaha’s 10 FTs were their 6th highest total of the season and 3rd time with 10+ in the last 5 games.

Miscellaneous

  • There were only 60 possessions in the game, the lowest number in an Omaha game this season. Previous low was 62 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
  • Omaha only turned it over on 18.3% of their possessions, the 2nd lowest rate of the season and lowest since 17.2% against Saint Louis (11/21).
  • Jamie Nash is now 44-44 in her 88 career starts while Paige Frauendorfer is 35-35 in her 70 career starts.
  • The only one on the Maverick team with a losing record in their career starts is Cathleen Cox who went 1-2 last year in 3 starts.
  • Paige Frauendorfer had her 5th double-double of the season and 17th in her career. Omaha is 5-0 in those games this season and 12-5 in her career.
  • Saturday was the first time all year that neither team led by 11 or more. The largest lead was 10 by Omaha.
  • The team with the largest lead at any point of the game is 13-1 in Omaha’s games this season.
  • Omaha has led by 10 or more in 10 of their 14 games this year.
  • The difference between the largest lead and the largest deficit for Omaha was a season low 14 points on Saturday.
  • With the win Chance Lindley became the 6th Maverick coach with 26 career wins. He tied Paula Buscher, 26-28 from 1998-2000.
  • Omaha is now 10-9 in games within 10 points under Chance Lindley.
  • Jamie Nash is now alone in 8th place in career starts with 88 after passing Karen Thies, 87 from 2004-07.

Maverick Summit League/National Ranks

  • Omaha leads the Summit in FG shooting (42.5%) and 3FG shooting (35.4%). They are 2nd in scoring with 64.5 per game.
  • Omaha is 2nd in the Summit in rebounds (38.8), 2nd in assists (14.3) and 2nd in steals (8.9).
  • Omaha is 30th in the nation in 3FG% (35.4%), 52nd in FG% (42.5%), 89th in assists (14.3), and 139th in scoring (64.5).
  • Paige Frauendorfer leads the Summit in rebounding (9.4), is 7th in scoring (13.9), 9th in steals (1.7), and 10th in FG% (44.1%).
  • Casse Vaughn leads the Summit in FG% at 59.3%. Ericka House is 2nd in 3FG with 32. Taijhe Kelly is 2nd in blocks with 1.6 per game.
  • Carolyn Blair-Mobley leads the Summit in 3FG% (46.4%), is 4th in rebounding (6.9), 5th in FG% (45.7%), and 6th in 3FG (26).
  • Jamie Nash leads the Summit in assists with 7.5 per game and steals with 3.8 per game.
  • Paige Frauendorfer is 73rd nationally in rebounding with 9.4 per game and 229th in scoring with 13.9 per game.
  • Taijhe Kelly is 85th nationally in blocks with 1.6 per game.
  • Jamie Nash is 4th nationally in assists with 7.5 per game and 8th nationally with 3.8 steals per game.
