2012-13 Omaha Basketball – Morning Round Up – 12/2/12

Fort Wayne picked up a nice win over Miami (Ohio). Western Illinois is the first Summit League team to two wins, while IUPUI is 0-2 (along with Omaha). Oakland lost yet another tough road game by a few points.

WISCONSIN (4-3) vs. California – 3 PM – Big Ten Network
DENVER (1-4) @ Stanford – 4 PM – Pac-12 Network

Wisconsin is a slight favorite at home against California today while Denver is double-digit underdogs at Stanford.

This Day In Maverick History:

The men’s last game and win on December 2nd was a 80-72 win in Omaha against Washburn in 2009. Omaha saw Tyler Bullock score 19 and Andrew Bridger add 18 points and nine assists as a strong second half shooting performance (65%) sent Omaha to the win.

The women’s last December 2nd game was that day against Washburn as well. Washburn was ranked #15 and cruised to a 68-47 win as only Alyssa Green could reach double figures for Omaha. Jamie Nash and Paige Frauendorfer both scored eight points as freshman in the game. Their last win on the date was 81-47 over Adams State in 2006. Omaha was paced by 28 points from Karen Thies, 10-15 from the field and 6-7 from 3.  Alyssa Green, a freshman on the team, scored six points and had a game-high seven assists.
