Articles About Omaha:

Nothing much about Omaha online right now… I’ll preview the Tulane game later this morning and my recap of the Texas Tech game is here.

Omaha Opponents In Action:

Teams UNO is playing are in ALL CAPS. The winners are in bold. All times CT.

BETHUNE-COOKMAN (1-2) @ New Orleans – WIN 71-65
NEBRASKA (2-0) vs. Valparaiso – Joe Cipriano Nebraska Classic – WIN 50-48
SOUTH DAKOTA (0-2) @ Wyoming – Global Sports Showcase – LOSS 71-51

Bethune-Cookman picked up a solid win last night, they’ll look to complete the UNO sweep next Friday. Nebraska didn’t look impressive but got the win over Valparaiso to move to 2-0 heading into the Omaha game on Sunday. Meanwhile South Dakota couldn’t hang with Wyoming in Laramie.

SOUTH DAKOTA (0-2) vs. North Carolina Central – Global Sports Showcase – Laramie, WY – 2 PM
TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN (1-2) vs. FORT WAYNE (1-1) – EMU “Ice Man” Classic – Ypsilanti, MI – 3:30 PM
WESTERN ILLINOIS (1-1) vs. Buffalo – 2012 Coaches vs. Cancer – Evansville, IN – 5 PM
CHICAGO STATE (1-1) @ Kent State – Joe Cipriano Nebraska Classic – 6 PM
SOUTH DAKOTA STATE (1-1) vs. Hofstra – 2K Sports Classic – Hempstead, NY – 6 PM
DENVER (1-1) vs. California – 7 PM
BENEDICTINE (3-1) @ Friends – Friends University Classic – 7 PM

South Dakota has a better chance of beating North Carolina Central today but still looks likely to lose for the 3rd straight day.  With Fort Wayne and Texas-Pan American both coming off of wins against Rochester, Fort Wayne is the favorite to get their 2nd win in this one. Western Illinois faces a slightly uphill battle on a neutral court vs. Buffalo. Chicago State has a win and this will be a tough test for them against Kent State. A win here would be a big statement.  South Dakota State travels to Hofstra and is a road favorite in New York. Denver gets a chance to host a Pac-12 opponent and this game is a real toss-up. Would be fun to watch this one.  Benedictine has a winnable game at Friends.

Upcoming Omaha Opponents:

Nebraska beat Valpariaso, here’s the World-Herald recap. Technically it was an upset but… c’mon man! Oh and that Bethune-Cookman victory over New Orleans? Featured a 25-7 run in the final 6 minutes to win by 6. Wow. Hopefully if our UNO gets a lead like that they can hold on. Recap from The Times-Picayune.
