2012-13 Omaha Basketball – Morning Round Up – 11/15/12

Articles About Omaha:

As usual there isn’t going to be much of a story about road games in the World-Herald. I’ll have my full blog up soon but I already have some quick thoughts on the game up here.   You can read the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s recap on their site.  Finally Nick Billingsley signed with the Mavericks, he’ll be joining the program next year. You can red the Omaha.com article from when he committed earlier this fall.

Omaha Opponents In Action:

Teams UNO is playing are in ALL CAPS. The winners are in bold. All times CT.

11/14/12
SOUTH DAKOTA (0-1) vs. Southern – Global Sports Showcase – LOSS 83-79
WISCONSIN (1-1) @ Florida – LOSS 74-56
TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN (1-2) vs. Rochester – EMU “Ice Man” Classic – WIN 74-65
WESTERN ILLINOIS (1-1) @ SIU-Edwardsville – LOSS 62-50
DENVER (1-1) vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – WIN 68-51
CAL STATE BAKERSFIELD (0-3) @ Sacramento State – LOSS 85-67

South Dakota will probably be disappointed to start their season off with a loss to Southern while Wisconsin left a lot of questions in the wake of an 18 point loss to Florida. Texas Pan-American and Denver both got their first wins of the year while Western Illinois and Cal State Bakersfield both took losses; Bakersfield in particular may not be thrilled by losing by 18.

11/15/12
BETHUNE-COOKMAN (0-2) @ New Orleans – 7:05 PM
NEBRASKA (1-0) vs. Valparaiso – Joe Cipriano Nebraska Classic – 8 PM – Big Ten Network
SOUTH DAKOTA (0-1) @ Wyoming – Global Sports Showcase – 8 PM

Bethune Cookman has their best chance to pick up a win (until playing Omaha in eigh days) while Nebraska could have a tough game with Valparaiso. It would be a bit of a downer if they do drop that one at home. South Dakota will have a tough time likely with Wyoming.

Upcoming Omaha Opponents:
