Articles About Omaha:

No pre-game article from the World-Herald today but they do have a brief posting about it.

Full preview of the Texas Tech game is available on my blog though!

Omaha Opponents In Action:

Teams UNO is playing are in ALL CAPS. The winners are in bold. All times CT.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS (0-2) @ Valparaiso – ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon – LOSS 69-46
IUPUI (2-1) vs. Bowling Green – NIT Season Tip-Off – WIN 80-66
TULANE (1-1) vs. BETHUNE-COOKMAN (0-2) – Joe Cipriano Nebraska Classic – TULANE WINS 65-55
SOUTH DAKOTA STATE (1-1) vs. Tennessee State – WIN 78-71
FORT WAYNE (1-1) vs. Rochester – EMU “Ice Man” Classic – WIN 73-56
CHICAGO STATE (1-1) vs. Concordia Chicago – WIN 81-65
KANSAS CITY (1-1) vs. Lincoln (Mo.) – WIN 99-64
OAKLAND (1-2) @ Boise State – LOSS 88-80

The South Dakota State win was pretty good over a team from the up-and-coming Ohio Valley Conference. Meanwhile Oakland missed out on their 2nd chance to pick up a good early road win, losing 88-80 in Boise.

SOUTH DAKOTA (0-0) vs. Southern – Global Sports Showcase – Laramie, WY – 5:30 PM
WISCONSIN (1-0) @ Florida – 6 PM – ESPN2
TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN (0-2) vs. Rochester – EMU “Ice Man” Classic – Ypsilanti, MI – 7 PM
WESTERN ILLINOIS (1-0) @ SIU-Edwardsville – 7 PM
DENVER (0-1) vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – 8 PM
CAL STATE BAKERSFIELD (0-2) @ Sacramento State – 9:05 PM

South Dakota plays Southern in Laramie in a game they should be able to win. Wisconsin and Florida play in what is probably the game of the day.  Texas-Pan American looks to get their first win in a very winnable game against Rochester, a non-D1 opponent. Western Illinois should be in for a great game against SIU-Edwardsville while Denver should handle Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.  In the last game of the evening Cal State Bakersfield travels to Sacramento State for a game that is a real toss-up.

Upcoming Omaha Opponents:

Texas Tech is covered here by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, talks about their young guards who can create their own shot.  Tulane’s, apparently ugly, 65-55 win over Bethune-Cookman is recapped here by the Times-Pcayune.
