April 5th Preview

Atlantic Region

Indiana (Pa.) @ Clarion – Clarion wins 3-0, loses 4-10 (More info here)

Can either team be written off, can neither team be written off?  I’d say Indiana (Pa.) is done at 6-8.  Clarion has only played 10 games, so if they win their next 4 they’d be 8-6, so they might be alive still.

Bluefield State @ West Virginia State – West Vrginia State wins 9-6, 12-3

And the undefeated conference start continues for West Virginia State.

(NON CONF) Concord @ Shepherd – Concord wins 5-4 (More info here)

Concord sweeps the entertaining 3 game series.

East Region

Adelphi @ Concordia (N.Y.) – Concordia (N.Y.) wins 4-2, loses 0-5 (More info here)

Concordia hands Adelphis their first loss and stays within 2 games.

Franklin Pierce @ Southern Connecticut – Franklin Pierce wins 7-4, loses 3-4 (More info here)

Walkoff sac-fly for Southern Connecticut.  Franklin Pierce is now 1.5 games back, Southern Connecticut is 2 games back.  Not any clearer picture for either team.

Southern New Hampshire @ Bentley – Bentley wins 9-8 (More info here)

Bentley now leads UMass-Lowell by .5 games at the top of the conference.  Southern New Hampshire is now 3.5 games out.

Pace @ Assumption – Pace wins 9-6 (More info here)

Assumption would have shared the lead with Bentley had they won, instead they sit one game out and Pace is only 3 games out.

Midwest Region

Bellarmine @ Northern Kentucky – Northern Kentucky wins 5-1, 6-5 (10) (More info here)

Well Northern Kentucky scored 5 runs in the last 3 innings to win the 2nd game and stay alive, only 4 games back of Indianapolis. (with a series @ Indianapolis next weekend). Bellarmine is 3 games back now.

South Region

Arkansas Tech @ (#5) Southern Arkansas – Southern Arkansas wins 10-6 (More info here)

Southern Arkansas has pretty much ended the title dreams of Tech who now trails by 4 games.

South Central Region

(#10) Abilene Christian @ (#17) Angelo State – Game of the Day – Abilene Christians wins 8-6 (10) (More info here)

Abilene Christian is now up 4 games in the LSC, and Angelo State is tied with Southwestern Oklahoma for 3rd.  Abilene has made this a 2 team race (Cameron is one game back).

Southeastern Region

Pfeiffer @ Barton – Barton wins 11-4 (More info here)

Barton picks up a huge win to win the series, now 2 games out in conference and tied for 2nd.  Pfeiffer drops to 3.5 games out.

North Georgia @ Augusta State – Augusta State wins 13-11 (More info here)

Augusta State picked up a must win game, stays even with North Georgia in the league, and gets the series win.  Both are 2.5 games back of Georgia College.

South Carolina Aiken @ Armstrong Atlantic State – South Carolina Aiken wins 5-4 (More info here)

Game 2 was halted and suspended for the day. Armstrong is now 4 games out of Georgia College, this 2nd game is a must must must win.

(#20) Columbus State @ Lander – Lander wins 7-1 (More info here)

Impressive series win by Lander who manages to stay within 3 games of Georgia College.

April 6th Preview

East Region

Bentley @ UMass Lowell – NE-10 GOTW – Game of the Day

This game looked good before the weekend, but after a surge by Bentley they now lead UMass Lowell by .5 games.  Now they face off, and UMass Lowell has the advantage of being at home.  It’s only a single game, but it’ll be a big one.

Southeastern Region

South Carolina Aiken @ Armstrong Atlantic State

Assuming they resume Game 2 Monday this will be a big one.  Armstrong Atlantic State can’t afford another loss here.
